Jeremiah Fears is getting another close look from a lottery team—again.
The talented Oklahoma Sooners guard is scheduled to have his second pre-draft workout today with the Utah Jazz, league sources tell me. With Utah holding the No. 5 overall pick in next week’s 2025 NBA Draft, a second workout isn’t just another stop—it’s a statement.
Fears averaged 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in his freshman season at Oklahoma, showcasing a dynamic skill set that’s caught the attention of multiple NBA teams. At 6’4”, he’s a confident and explosive combo guard who thrives in one-on-one situations, plays with pace, and brings an edge every time he steps on the floor.
“They want to get another look at how he carries himself in their system,” a league source shared. “He’s had a strong predraft process, and Utah sees something they really like.”
Around the league, Fears has drawn a variety of comparisons—Monta Ellis for his quick-twitch scoring, Jamal Murray for his shot creation, Jordan Poole for his microwave mentality, Josh Hart for his rebounding and hustle, and Scoot Henderson for his explosiveness and vocal leadership.
Utah’s front office, led by Danny Ainge and Justin Zanik, has been active in evaluating top guard talent, and Fears is clearly on their shortlist. With a young core that already features Keyonte George, Taylor Hendricks, and Walker Kessler, the Jazz are keeping every option open as they consider what direction to go with the No. 5 pick.
“They’re not bringing guys back unless there’s something there,” one scout told me. “He’s a competitor, he defends, and he’s not afraid of the moment.”
As we head into the final stretch before the draft, all eyes are on Utah—and Jeremiah Fears is making sure he stays in the conversation.
