The Next Chapter: The Pull Up With Scoop B

Evolution isn’t just a buzzword in this industry; it’s a requirement for survival. For 29 years, I’ve been dedicated to the craft of storytelling—transitioning from a kid with a dream to a veteran voice in the global media landscape.

As I stand at the intersection of sports, culture, and business, I’ve realized that to truly honor the audience, I must innovate.

We are living in an era where the lines between journalist and creator have dissolved. As we close the door on one historic decade, I am excited to invite you into the next phase of our journey: The Pull Up With Scoop B.

Honoring the Foundation: Scoop B Radio

This new chapter comes on the heels of an incredible milestone. We recently concluded a historic ten-year run of the Scoop B Radio Podcast. For a decade, that platform was my laboratory—a space where I sat down with legends like Shaq, Allen Iverson, Mark Cuban, and Spike Lee. Ending that chapter was bittersweet, but it provided the perfect springboard for what’s next.

Dual Roots: The Jersey-NYC Pipeline

My story is rooted in a unique dual-identity. While I was born in Newark and raised in the Oranges, my professional and personal DNA was equally forged across the bridge. I grew up navigating both worlds: the grit of New Jersey and the pulse of New York City.

Whether I was at my maternal grandmother’s home in the Bronx, my aunt and uncle’s place on the Upper West Side, or with family in Yonkers, the city was my second home. I wasn’t just watching the game; I was “street adjacent” in Rucker Park and Riverbank State Park. That hybrid hustle started in 1997 as a child host for the New Jersey Nets’ Nets Slammin’ Planet. Whether I was working the floor at Continental Airlines Arena or handling a live mic at 12 years old for AAHS World Radio, I was locked in.

Chicago Inspiration & Full-Circle Moments

While my environment was the Tri-State, my spirit was inspired by the Windy City. I’ve been entranced by basketball since 1991, watching my stepfather’s Chicago Bulls dominate the era.

That inspiration came full circle during my tenure covering the Nets and continues today. One of my most profound moments involves Ron Harper. I covered him on the legendary “Last Dance” Bulls squad, and years later, I chronicled his sons, Ron Harper Jr. and Dylan Harper, through their own journeys to the NBA. Seeing that legacy unfold is why I do this.

New Vision, New Energy

I am officially announcing the launch of my brand-new digital series: “The Pull Up With Scoop B.” This isn’t just another talk show—it’s a visual expansion of everything we’ve built. To honor the spark that first ignited my passion, our premiere episodes were taped on-site in Chicago.

The Production Team: To bring this vision to life, I’ve assembled a powerhouse team at CastleLight Productions(Ryan Cassell, Charlie Murphy, and Bragard Kizenga) alongside Briahna Gatlin of Swank Publishing.
