Boston Celtics Championship Ring Gets Assist From Los Angeles Lakers Owner Jeanie Buss

The Boston Celtics received their NBA Championship rings ahead of the NBA’s Opening Night tip off against the New York Knicks this evening at TD Bank Garden.

When making the rings for the Celtics, Jason Arasheben, owner of Jason of Beverly Hills had a dilemma: loyalty.

“Would this piss off the Lakers,” Arasheben shared with Scoop B Radio.

“When I was trying to get this deal, I was really concerned if this was the right deal to chase.”

A brief history lesson: Arashaben got his big break in fine jewelry in 2009 when he created the Los Angeles Lakers’ championship ring. A jeweler to the stars, Arasheben has designed championship rings for nearly every major league sport for quite some time.

You name them he and his company have created it: the Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Rams, Jason and his jewels are in there like swimwear.

But this is different. This is the Celtics, rivals of the hometown Lakers. “I was afraid that there would be some animosity. I called Jeanie Buss and I said I want to get your permission before I chase this deal.”

Thankfully, Arasheben got Buss’ blessing. “Jeanie actually was like: ‘Are you kidding me.’ It was music to my ears.”

It gets better. Not only did Buss give Arashaben her blessing, she actually called Celtics majority co-owners Wyc Grousbeck and his wife, Emilia Fazzalari to rave about Araheben’s prior work. “I was afraid that the Lakers would not allow me,” said Arashaben,

“They actually helped me.”

In fact, Arasheben’s Jason of Beverly Hills beat out both Tiffany’s and Jostens in securing the deal with the Celtics.

The trio of Grousbeck, Fazzalari and Arasheben met during the summer in Los Angeles and crafted an elegant design that dually met the specifications of the organization and the personality of the city of Boston.

The blinged out rose gold, diamond encrusted ring includes etchings of all of the 18 Celtics championships.

Think Bill Russell, think Larry Bird and Kevin McHale, while appreciating Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen’s all while experiencing Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown all at the same time.

It is ALL THERE.

To commemorate last season’s Celtics, the championship ring has all of the series matchups from the 2024 Playoffs which includes beating both the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-1 in Rounds 1 and 2 and sweeping the Indiana Pacers 4-0 in the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals.

Additionally, the ring notes record of the Celtics’ 4-1 NBA Finals win against the Dallas Mavericks back in June.

Other features on the ring includes a twist off top that once taken apart has a Celtics 2024 NBA Championship banner on the inside of the ring. The ring also contains a replica of the scoreboard from Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals that reads 106-88.

Lastly, each Celtics player’s ring has their number encrusted in diamonds on the side with the team’s slogan engraved that reads “Whatever It Takes.”

How ironic. While Arasheben also counts Celtics players in Derrick White, Jrue Holiday and Jayson Tatum as clients, the Lakers fan who has created rings for the Lakers in both the Kobe Bryant and Lebron James era did whatever it took to mend fences in Lakers and Celtics epic rivalry.

That’s classy!
